Privacy policy

This policy covers 4brainslabs.com and the tools hosted on its subdomains, all operated by 4Brains Technologies Private Limited (“we”). Individual tools may show a shorter notice of their own; where they do, it adds detail to this page and never contradicts it.

What we collect

• No account is needed to read this site or to use the tools. A visit is recorded in our server logs and measured by Google Analytics, and pages that carry ads load Google’s advertising code. Each is described below.
• What you give a tool. QR Studio and WordCloud Studio do their work in your browser; nothing you type or add to them is uploaded, except a WordCloud design you choose to save to an account. Background Remover sends your photo to our server, processes it in memory and discards it once the cut-out reaches you; nothing is written to disk. 4B Engraver processes uploaded models on our server and deletes them automatically after 7 days. Uploaded files are not shared and not used for anything else.
• Optional accounts. Some tools let you create an account to sync your own work between devices. We then store your email address, a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself), and the work you choose to save. We don’t sell this information or send marketing email.
• Server logs. Standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) are kept for security and to keep the service running.

Cookies and local storage

Tools with accounts set a session cookie when you sign in, so you stay signed in; it expires when you sign out or after a limited period. Tools may use your browser’s local storage to keep your own work on your device. Neither is used to track you across other websites. Google Analytics sets two cookies of its own, described under Google Analytics, and advertising cookies are described under Advertising.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a measurement service from Google, to count visits and to see which guides people read and which tools they open. It runs on every page of this site and of the four tool sites, which all report to the same Analytics account.

On this site, for each visit, Google Analytics records:

• the address and title of each page you open, and the page that sent you here, if there was one;
• when you scroll to near the end of a page, and the address of any link you click that leads to another website (the tool sites count as other websites) or downloads a file;
• how long a page is open, and technical details: screen size, browser language, and browser and operating-system version;
• your approximate location (country or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

We made this list by recording everything this site sent to Google Analytics while its pages were opened and scrolled and its links were clicked. The tool sites send the same kinds of measurements. Addresses are recorded in full, so a file name that is part of a download link is recorded too.

Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga, a random number that lets it tell repeat visits apart, and _ga_N20PRFRKYY, which keeps track of the current visit. Google sets both to last up to 2 years; some browsers delete them sooner. The reports we see are counts and trends, such as how many people read a guide in a week. They do not show us your name, email address or IP address.

How to opt out. To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking or deleting this site’s cookies in your browser settings stops Analytics from recognising you as a returning visitor; on a tool with accounts it also signs you out. This site works the same without Google Analytics.

Advertising

To keep the tools free we show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read more in Google’s advertising policies. Other third-party ad networks may also serve ads and set cookies here; you can opt out of many of them at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.

Third-party resources

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts; your browser sends its IP address to Google as part of that request, as with any web resource. Google Analytics and the advertising code also load from Google’s servers, as described above.

Your rights

You can delete saved work inside any tool that offers accounts. To delete an account entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email contact@4brains.in from the address you signed up with.

Children

The tools are suitable for all ages, but accounts are intended for users 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
