About 4Brains Labs

Guides to QR codes, word clouds, image cut-outs and 3D-print engraving, and the four free tools they are built around. Published by 4Brains Technologies in Navi Mumbai.

Who writes the guides

Sanjeev Shankar Sinha is a co-founder of 4Brains Technologies in Navi Mumbai. He builds and tests the 4Brains Labs tools.

Alok Kumar is a co-founder of 4Brains Technologies in Navi Mumbai.

Every guide on this site is written by one of them and carries the name of the one who wrote it. Questions about a guide, and corrections, go to contact@4brains.in.

How the guides are written and checked

Each guide covers one job that one of the four tools is used for: sizing a QR code for the distance it will be scanned from, turning survey answers into a word cloud, numbering a batch of 3D prints. Tying every guide to a working tool means its advice can be checked against something real.

The settings, file formats and limits a guide gives for one of our tools were checked against the live tool on the latest date the guide shows. Every picture in a guide says what it is: a screenshot or an output made on the live tool, a 3D render, or a diagram drawn for the guide. Tools change, so if something in a guide no longer matches what the tool does, or you find any other mistake, tell us at contact@4brains.in.

Every guide shows the date it was first published, and the date of its last update when there has been one. No guide is sponsored and none carries affiliate links.

The four tools

  • QR Studio makes QR codes for links, WiFi, contact cards, UPI payments and more, plus retail and logistics barcodes. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is uploaded.
  • WordCloud Studio pours a list of words into a shape and exports a PNG up to 16K or a vector SVG. It runs entirely in your browser; a design is stored only if you create an optional account and save it.
  • Background Remover cuts the subject out of a photograph at the resolution you uploaded. It uses a server: the photo is sent to our own server in India, processed on a graphics card and held only in memory until the result reaches you.
  • 4B Engraver engraves a logo, a name or a serial number into an STL or 3MF model and returns a watertight 3MF and an STL. It uses a server: models are processed there and deleted automatically after 7 days.

Why the tools are free

QR Studio and WordCloud Studio do all their work on your device, so a use costs us nothing. Background Remover and 4B Engraver need a server, which we run ourselves. The sites carry a few ads, which pay for hosting, so nothing is locked away: no watermarks, no signup and no paid tier.

How we treat your data

As little as possible leaves your device. Background Remover writes nothing to disk and discards a photo once the cut-out is returned; 4B Engraver deletes uploaded models automatically after 7 days. Accounts, where a tool offers them, are optional and exist only to sync your own work between devices. The details are in the privacy policy.

The studio behind the lab

4Brains Technologies designs and deploys integrated hardware and software systems for experiential environments: live stages, brand activations, infrastructure projects and public installations across India, from AI brand activations at Lollapalooza 2025 to kinetic LED architecture. The work covers custom event platforms, embedded sensor systems, generative-AI photobooths, AR/VR environments, projection systems and large LED architecture.

That work keeps throwing up small jobs no existing tool did well: engraving serial numbers on a batch of 3D-printed parts, or producing shaped typographic artwork for a brand space. When a solution is good enough to reuse, it is polished and published here, and 4Brains Labs is where those tools and the guides about the same jobs live. See the studio’s work.
